Sample Assignment: Emulation
Instructions
For this project, you will select a photographer and try to emulate, or imitate, their work. You should have a total of five final images for this project that are connected to your photographer, making your best effort at recreating their photographs.
You must also create a presentation with research that supports your emulation or mimicry of the photographer's images.
This presentation must include:
A brief biography of your photographer, including basic facts, major achievements, and any controversies
An analysis of your photographer's major projects, including subject matter, intentions, and aesthetics
Your own images and some information on how they are connected to your photographer, whether through aesthetics, subject matter, or both.
Include a slide about this experience. How did you go about trying to photograph like your chosen artist? What challenges did you run into, and what did you learn?
